Telling the VIVISUN LED switch innovation story through animation.
Demonstrating innovation in microelectronics can be challenging. Take the case of the VIVSUN LED switch. VIVISUN enjoyed the position of market leader, based on quality and product performance. However, staying the market leader in the aviation industry requires new products based on engineering innovation.
When the new VIVISUN LED Logic Series Electronic Latch Switch was introduced, it became apparent that traditional wiring diagrams and electrical schematics were limited in their ability to tell the complete innovation story.
Taking a queue from the movie Fantastic Voyage (1966), the idea was to allow the viewer to follow the spark path inside the switch, providing rich visual information and highlighting innovative features and benefits. The journey begins when a remote Pilot Call switch is actuated. From that point, the viewer can follow the spark path through the switch’s solid-state circuits as it performs complex multiple functions.
Inviting the viewer to take the “Fantastic Voyage” inside the switch accomplished the following objectives:
- Explained and visually demonstrated advanced technology
- Confirmed market need and acceptance for additional switch configurations using the Multi-Functional Body Component
- Reinforced VIVISUN’s brand promise as the innovation leader in pushbutton switch components
The innovation story continues with the introduction of the Pulse/Time and Pushbutton Rotary Switch.
